DIVISIO TEXTUS.
Supra ostendit Magister, quando Angeli fuerunt creati; in hac parte ostendit, ubi fuerunt creati, quia scilicet in empyreo. Et dividitur pars ista in tres partes. In prima determinat, ubi creati fuerunt. In secunda vero repetit, quando creati fuerunt, ibi: Simul ergo visibilium etc. In tertia vero removet dubitationem, ibi: Hic quaeri solet, si in caelo empyreo etc. Sic circa duo versatur intentio partis praesentis, scilicet circa loci angelici quidditatem, et quantum ad actum locandi, sive officium, quod dicitur habere caelum empyreum respectu Angelorum.
TRACTATIO QUAESTIONUM.
Ad intelligentiam huius partis, quae est de loco creationis Angelorum, cuiusmodi est empyreum caelum, circa duo incidit dubitatio.
Primo, circa naturam empyrei in se.
Secundo, in quantum habet locare spiritus sublimes.
Circa primum quaeruntur duo.
Primum est quantum ad qualitatem1 naturae.
Secundum quantum ad virtutem influentiae.

Part II.
On the place where the angels were created.

DIVISION OF THE TEXT.
Above, the Master showed when the angels were created; in this part he shows where they were created — namely, in the empyrean. And this part is divided into three parts. In the first he determines where they were created. In the second he repeats when they were created, at: "Together therefore with the visible [things]," etc. In the third he removes a doubt, at: "Here it is wont to be asked, whether in the empyrean heaven," etc. So the intention of the present part turns upon two [things], namely upon the quiddity of the angelic place, and as to the act of locating — or the office — which the empyrean heaven is said to have with respect to the angels.
TREATMENT OF THE QUESTIONS.
For the understanding of this part, which is about the place of the creation of the angels — of what kind the empyrean heaven is — a doubt falls upon two [things].
First, concerning the nature of the empyrean in itself.
Second, in so far as it has [the office] of locating sublime spirits.
Concerning the first, two things are asked.
The first is as to the quality1 of [its] nature.
The second, as to the power of [its] influence.
